Eastern Radiologists Breast Imaging Center_______________________________________________________________
The Eastern Radiologists, Inc. Breast Imaging Center is the only free standing breast imaging facility in Eastern North Carolina. It was designed to provide modern breast imaging in a comfortable, patient oriented environment. In October 2007, the breast center was recognized by The American College of Radiology (ACR) as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, making it one of only nine in North Carolina with this status.

The Breast Imaging Center is staffed by board-certified, dedicated breast imaging physicians. The center has the only fellowship trained breast imaging specialists in the region. Studies have shown that experienced readers who specialize in breast imaging and read many times more cases than the required minimum, are less likely to require additional exams and biopsies, and are more likely to find smaller breast cancers.

The center is the central hub of The Eastern Radiologists Breast Imaging Network a group of 14 mammography sites throughout eastern North Carolina. All breast procedures performed at any ERBIN facility are sent to Greenville for interpretation by the team of specialists at the Breast Imaging Center. The facility and its team are nationally recognized as leading providers of state of the art women’s imaging services.

Management

Bruce F. Schroeder, M.D.
The center is under the directorship of Bruce F. Schroeder, M.D. Dr. Schroeder completed his mammography fellowship at New York University in 1996 and has been director of breast imaging at Eastern Radiologists and The Brody School of Medicine since that time.
Missy Howell, RPA, RT(R)(M)
Missy is the manager of the Breast Imaging Center. She is certified by the Board of Radiology Practitioner Assistants and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. She has been with the practice since 2005.
